The chromefree bovine leather is smooth and lightweight. It comes from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and undergoes an innovative tanning process that uses no chrome, heavy metals, or hazardous acids. By simplifying the tanning process, the use of chemicals and energy is reduced, water consumption is reduced by about 40%, and salt usage is lowered by 80%. After tanning, the water is recyclable.
